Feeney Family Visits Chicago

Karri, Chris and the girls made the trek up to Chicago to drop Abi off for camp and trade their minivan for our SUV. We ate Chicago-style pizza (well, ok, CHRIS ate Chicago-style pizza) and visited the aquarium and the lake front. Karri and Chris even took a tour of the south side and brought home an extra vehicle.

Missouri

We spent 10 days in Missouri, traveling from southsouthsouth (Ozark) to northnorthnorth (Memphis) to enjoy family. The Festivus 4th of July celebration gets bigger every year as new babies are born--a special thanks to the Myers family for planning and hosting. Memories like these are pure joy on earth. We love you all so much!

Beans, Beans, Beans

Start them young, train them right...even the babies participate in the task of snapping beans. Aunt Sarah cooks them in the big pot with bacon and onion...yum!

Zion's Heroes

Zion and Uncle Brent have a special bond. Both of them share a penchant for science, nature, setting things on fire, and explosions.

Uncle Michael listens patiently to Zion's dissertations on movies, Star Wars, and facts. He's always up for a game or a wrestle.

Myers Cousins

I remember what a great time we used to have with Brent, Karri, Betsy and Nikki. Our children are repeating the tradition--their bonds strengthen, year after year. It's fun and amazing to watch them grow and interact.

Jedi's Vacation Diary

wow, i sure did love my trip to missouri! the long drive is no problem for me, especially since i have the entire front passenger seat to myself while my mom sits in back with the kids. sure do love that new car! not as many old french fries on the floor to snack on like the red car, but great AC! all it needed was a few extra dog hairs, which i was happy to provide.

grandma pam's house was great! i was happy to see my old buddy payton. we ran around and terrorized the neighborhood together. even that old girl mackenzie was showing some spunk. we played ball in the yard and swam in the pond with the frogs. i showed off my babysitting skills by letting the babies crawl all over me and licking their faces after mealtimes. why is it that the humans are grateful when i clean the area under the high chair, but not when i save them a trip to the bathtub, too?

i didn't quite endear myself to the myers family, as the first thing i did when i got to the farm was to swim in the pond, get totally mucky, and then jump into the pool. good thing cousin brent pulled me out, or i'd still be swimming around trying to find the exit. i learned some things from that experience: it's no fun to spend the weekend tied to a tree, and i really, really hate fireworks.

well, i did have a good time overall. for now, it's back to schaumburg and the squirrels. sure hope those farm dogs didn't give me any fleas--

love, jedi

Zen enjoyed getting to know Great Grandma and Uncle Jasper in Ozark.

I Love Steak and Shake!

Zen and Jake are starting young--and who better to teach them than Uncle Michael?
